Deanna Thirkell and Natalie Donnelly posted singles victories to give Colorado College a 5-4 victory over Colorado State University-Pueblo to complete the match that was suspended on Feb. 26 because of darkness with the score tied at 3-3.
Playing indoors at the Colorado Springs Racquet Club, Donnelly gave the Tigers a 4-3 lead when she cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 4 singles.
Thirkell registered the deciding point moments later by winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
“It was encouraging to see them try for more aggressive points and putting the last shot on their racquet,” head coach Perry Wright said.
In the most exciting match of the day, Erin Yamamoto dropped a 3-6, 6-3 (11-9) decision to Val Boughton at No. 5 singles.
CC evened its record at 2-2.
Colorado College begins a six-match road trip over Spring Break on Thursday when the Tigers take on Claremont Colleges.
