Tigers fall to Centre College in SCAC play

Danny Noll scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Centre College men's basketball team to a 66-51 victory over Colorado College in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Friday night in Danville, Ky.
 
The Tigers looked good early, leading by as many as 10 points on two occasions in the opening 10 minutes. But after Lance Jacobs put CC ahead 22-12 just over nine minutes into the first half, the Colonels used a 26-7 run to build a 38-29 advantage at the break.
 
Colorado College trailed just 40-33 after a Nick Rose layup 5:35 into the second half, but that was as close as the Tigers would get. The Colonels took command with 21-5 run to take its biggest lead at 23 points with 5:10 to play.
 
Brady Ohlsen led CC with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jarrell Sweet added 11 points and game highs of eight rebounds and six assists. Rose finished with 10 points, but the rest of the team could muster only 15.
 
Jeff Mulaney added 14 points for Centre, which also got a total of 33 points from nine other players.
 
The Colonels improved to 11-3 overall and remain tied with Oglethorpe University for first place in the SCAC's East Division with a 4-1 record. The Tigers dropped to 2-12 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
 
Colorado College will play the last of five consecutive road games on Sunday when the Tigers visit DePauw University.
