Colorado College trimmed a 13-point deficit to two points with 6:07 to play, but could not get the go-ahead basket and dropped a 60-49 decision at DePauw University on Friday night.
CC pulled to within 46-44 when Ben Foley scored two of his eight points, but the hosts scored six consecutive points and sealed the victory at the free throw line.
Nick Rose led Colorado College with 15 points, which was his fewest in a game this season.
Brady Ohlsen gave CC a 26-25 advantage with 4:06 remaining in the first half, but Steve Lemasters hit a three pointer 42 seconds later which put DePauw in front to stay.
The home team used a 9-2 run during the opening 3:55 of the second half to build a 41-28 and hung on from that point on.
Sean Haseley paced DePauw with 13 points while Lemasters finished with 12.
Colorado College slipped to 12-8 overall and 8-2 in the SCAC. DePauw improved to 12-7 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
CC, which leads the Western Division by two games over Trinity, plays at Eastern Division co-leader Centre College on Sunday.
