Tigers outrebounded by Thunderwolves

Box Score The Colorado College men's basketball team was outrebounded by host Colorado State University-Pueblo, 51-27 as the Tigers fell, 71-51, to open their 2011-12 season Friday evening during the Al Kaly Classic.
 
The Thunderwolves jumped out to an early 4-0 lead to begin the game, but CC came back with a three-point play by senior Jeremiah Waters that sparked a 7-0 run. The 7-4 advantage was the largest lead for the Tigers as CSU-Pueblo rallied back with a 15-2 run to retake control of the game with 11:20 remaining in the first half.
 
Both teams hit a dry spell late in the first half after CC's sophomore Daniel Webb hit a jumper with 8:06 remaining. The next basket was not scored until the 4:38 mark with a three-pointer by the Tigers' Ryan Milne. CSU-Pueblo went into intermission ahead, 35-24.
 
With the Tigers down 41-27 early in the second half, junior Ian Rewoldt hit a layup with 17:02 remaining in the game to spark a 15-6 run to cut the Thunderwolves' lead to five points. That was as close as CC came to CSU-Pueblo as the Thunderwolves pulled away with a 24-9 run to end the game with a 71-51 decision over the Tigers.
 
Sophomore Jake Tramutolo and Waters led Colorado College with 12 points apiece. Webb added a career-high 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor. Rewoldt led the Tigers on the boards with nine rebounds and added five points and three assists.
 
Arden Dennis led CSU-Pueblo with 14 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Tigers continue play in the Al Kaly Classic on Saturday at 5 p.m. against New Mexico Highlands University.
