Box Score The Colorado College men's basketball team fell to New Mexico Highlands, 71-49, to finish tournament play in the Al Kaly Classic, Saturday in Pueblo.
The Tigers suffered from cold long-range shooting, hitting only two three-pointers in the loss, while the Cowboys sank 11 shots from long range for a total of 33 points from behind the three-point line.

Ian Rewoldt led CC with 14 points apiece. Rewoldt also paced the team with seven rebounds.
The Tigers took an early 2-1 lead in the first half on a jumper by Rewoldt at the 17:48 mark, but the Cowboys answered back with a dunk by Marcus Williams. Highlands hit a free throw to take a two point advantage, but CC answered back with a jumper by freshman
Joe Howard to tie the game with 12:56 left in the half.
The Cowboys' Ryan Gonzales hit the first three-pointer of the game to ignite an 8-2 run for Highlands. The Cowboys held onto the lead and went into intermission with a 33-18 edge.
CC began the second half strong with two straight layups by Rewoldt and freshman
Chris Lesnansky to cut the deficit to 11, but that was as close as the Tigers got as the Cowboys pulled away on a 10-4 run.
Gonzales led Highlands with 15 points, while Williams added 11.
Colorado College dropped to 0-2 for the season, while the Cowboys improved to 1-1.
The Tigers continue play on the road against Division II Metro State College of Denver for a midweek game on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. CC opens conference play during its first homestand of the season against Southwestern University and Trinity University on Dec. 2-3. Both games start at 8 p.m.
