2013 SCAC 1-Meter Diving Results
Austin Howlett turned in a dominating performance on the 1-meter board in the first event of the 2013 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday night at the Rockwall ISD Aquatics Center.
Howlett finished 120.05 points ahead of Trinity University's Stu Sproul with an NCAA qualifying score of 480.95 to claim his second conference title. His score was 36.89 better than last year's total of 444.20 that resulted in a second-place finish.
Senior
Reggie Anderson recorded his best SCAC finish ever, taking third place with a score of 319.10, while senior Daniel Condren took sixth with 255.35 points.
Despite taking three of the top six spots, the Tigers trail Trinity, 54-49, heading into Day 1 of the swimming events. TU divers took second, fifth, seventh and eighth. Southwestern University is third with 16 points, one more than Austin College.
Howlett will defend his 3-meter crown on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
The SCAC Championships continue on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the first of 10 preliminaries. The finals begin at 6:30 p.m.
The diving resumes with the women's 1-meter competition at 1:30 p.m.
