Colorado College led 58-55 after Hatch dialed long distance with 14:14 to play, but the Leopards answered with three long-range baskets to take a lead they would not surrender.
The Tigers trimmed their deficit to 69-67 when Hatch sank a pair of free throws with 11:09 remaining, however ULV broke the game open with a 13-0 run and never looked back.
Anthony White scored 16 of his game-high 29 points during the second half to help La Verne improve to 6-3. White went 7-for-15 from behind the arc.
Kendall McClain finished with 21 points for the Leopards, while Jordan Stokes and Connor Head added 13 points apiece.
CC shot nearly 70 percent from the floor during the first half when it overcame a six-point deficit during the final three minutes to take a 47-45 lead at the break.
ULV held a 41-37 edge on the glass, but had a decisive 21-3 advantage in second-chance points.
Colorado College (2-8) wraps up its two-game trip to Southern California on Thursday at Caltech.
