Box Score Eric Houska poured in a game-high 26 points to lead Colorado College to a 73-71 victory at crosstown rival UCCS in an exhibition game on Saturday night at the Gallogly Events Center.
Sophomore forward
CooXooEii Black scored the go-ahead basket with 23 seconds remaining in the game after he grabbed the rebound of Houska's layup.
Justin Smith tied the score at 71-71 on a layup with 55 seconds to play.
The Mountain Lions took a pair of shots during the final 18 seconds, but Brandon Malone missed a layup and Isaiah Wilson couldn't connect on a three-pointer with just four seconds to go.
Houska, who made eight of 20 field-goal attempts and was 8-of-9 from the charity stripe, also recorded game highs of six assists and three steals.
Senior forward
Chris Martin finished with 15 points, while senior guard
Bobby Roth added 11.
Black produced eight points and a team-leading five rebounds.
The Tigers scored 23 points off of 14 UCCS turnovers.
Malone led the Mountain Lions with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Elijah Ross added 17 points for UCCS.
Colorado College plays its final exhibition game at Division I BYU on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Provo, Utah.
