Senior right wing and team captain
Mike Testwuide, who scored a goal both nights and added an assist in Colorado College's recent tie and victory at St. Cloud State University, was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Testwuide's career-high 12th tally of the season, at 1:22 of the second period, stood up as the game winner in last Saturday's 4-1 victory against SCSU. He also assisted on a goal by freshman forward
Andrew Hamburg just 46 seconds into the game that gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead, and struck early in the third period of Friday's 4-4 with the Huskies.
The 6-3, 22-pound product of Vail, Colo., has lit the lamp five times in the last three games, including a hat trick in a 4-4 come-from-behind draw with the University of Denver at DU's Magness Arena on Dec. 5. Currently ranked among the WCHA and national goal-scoring leaders, he has struck for two shorthanded as well as four on the power play.
In addition to his points last weekend, Testwuide also fired eight shots on goal in the series and earned a +3 plus-minus rating.
CC, 11-4-3 overall and 8-3-3 in league play, is ranked No. 3 in both national polls this week. The Tigers enter the two-week holiday break in second place in the WCHA standings, just one point back of front-running Denver.
