Logan Boccard, who graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in biology, was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Boccard earned second-team honors after completing his academic career with a 3.89 grade-point average, lowering his own school record in the 400 intermediate hurdles three times, and meeting the NCAA provisional qualifying time twice.
A native of Broomfield, Colo., Boccard posted his best effort in the event on May 9 when he recorded a time of 53.61 at the Occidental Invitational. Over the course of the season, he chopped a total of 1.16 seconds off the CC standard he initially set in 2007.
Boccard won the 400 hurdles at Grinnell College’s Dick Young Classic on April 18 and at the University of New Mexico’s Don Kirby Invitational against Division I runners on May 2.
Earlier this year, Boccard was named a third-team academic All-American in men’s soccer.
