A day after signing a pro contract with the NHL's Minnesota Wild, Nate Prosser received more good news.

Prosser, who led Colorado College's defensemen with a career-high 28 points (4g,24a) in 39 games this season, on Thursday was named to the All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association Second Team for 2009-10.

A pair of CC freshmen – goaltender Joe Howe and center Rylan Schwartz – earned two of six spots on the All-WCHA Rookie Team.

Twenty (4g,16a) of Prosser's points, including all three of his power-play goals and one game winner in a 3-2 victory at Minnesota State University, came in league play, tying the senior economics major for second in scoring among blue-line specialists throughout the entire WCHA. Last week he also was among 14 Tigers named to the All-WCHA Academic Team.

Howe, meanwhile, logged more minutes (1,611:39) in conference play than any goalie in the WCHA while backstopping 12 league victories among his 17 overall. Schwartz, who factored in on the game-winning goal in 10 of Colorado College's 19 victories in '09-10, collected 20 (6g,14a) of his total of 28 points (6g,22a) in WCHA play.

The selections officially were announced on Thursday afternoon at an annual awards ceremony preceding the start of the WCHA Final Five tournament in St. Paul, Minn.
