Tigers to play twice on CBS Sports Network

The national spotlight will shine on the Colorado College hockey team again this season. CBS Sports Network will televise a pair of games from the Colorado Springs World Arena, it was announced today.

College hockey fans will witness one of the most intense rivalries in the country when the Tigers face off against the University of Denver at 8 p.m. MT on Friday, Dec. 2. Home ice for the playoffs and a top seed for the NCAA Tournament could be on the line when the University of Nebraska Omaha invades the World Arena for an 8 p.m. MT contest on Friday, Feb. 17.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Colorado College, one of the top programs in college hockey,” said Ross Molloy, Vice President, Remote Production, CBS Sports Network. “These are two attractive match-ups out West that rounds out our extensive national television package, which includes games from all five conferences.”

Last season, Colorado College won both games televised by CBS Sports Network. The Tigers defeated North Dakota, 4-2, on Jan. 28 and beat Denver, 3-2, a week later on Feb. 4.

“We are thrilled to partner with CBS Sports Network again this season,” CC Assistant Athletic Director Scott Lowenberg said. “The HD production with top announcers, and a Network available across the United States and Canada is huge to CC. Having the opportunity to televise these two games nationally is a reflection of what Head Coach Scott Owens and his team have accomplished on the ice.”

The Tigers, who open the season with an exhibition game at home against McGill University of Montreal, Quebec, on Sunday, Oct. 2, return 21 letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 23-19-3 record and knocked off defending national champion Boston College, 8-4, in a regional semifinal of the NCAA playoffs.

CBS Sports Network is available locally in Colorado Springs on Comcast Cable, Channel 170 and 846 (HD). The Network is also available via satellite on DISH Network (Channel 152) and DirecTV (Channel 613). For more information on CBS Sports Network, go to www.cbssportsnetwork.com.
