Tigers Fall Twice in Double-Dual Meet

Results

Despite individual victories by sophomore Trey Watmore and freshman Ethan Schick, the Colorado College men's swimming and diving team dropped a pair of decisions during a double-dual meet against Austin College and St. Gregory's University Saturday in Sherman, Texas.

The Tigers lost to St. Gregory's, 104-87, while Austin College defeated CC, 132-72.

Watmore won the 500-yard freestyle race in a time of 5:21:46, nearly five seconds faster than second-place Collin Vu of Austin. Watmore also produced a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley on Saturday.

Schick, meanwhile, won the 100-yard butterfly race for the second straight day, touching the wall just .14 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Senior Yueyang Yu (100 breaststroke) and freshman Drew Ceglinski (1000 freestyle) each posted a second-place finish, while sophomores Ian Carey and Dennis Zhang finished third in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, respectively.

The Tigers travel to Chicago, Ill., next weekend for the Phoenix Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Chicago.
