The Banana Slugs outshot the Tigers 27-12 from the floor on a 43.5 field-goal percentage. CC shot 18-of-20 from the free-throw line, but was only able to shoot 12-of-66 from the floor.

UC Santa Cruz's Jean Dulay scored the first points of the game 1:12 into the half as she hit a three-pointer to help ignite an 11-4 run in the first quarter.

The Banana Slugs (4-3) continued its run into the second quarter holding a 34-25 lead at halftime. Trina Torres led the team with 11 points, while Ashley Holmes and Jasmin Dimson added 10 points each.
