th to lead the Colorado College women's cross country team to a third-place tie at the CC Invitational Saturday morning at North Monument Valley Park.

Warling posted her second consecutive seventh-place finish this season, completing the 6k course in a time of 23 minutes and three seconds. Wessler, the reigning Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference individual champion, finished 16 seconds behind her teammate.

"I am very excited about how Allysa and Leah ran today," head coach
Ted Castaneda said. "We were expecting Allysa to stay with Leah until about mid-October, but she has already passed her.

Having those two up front has given this team a lot of hope looking ahead to the conference and regional meets and hopefully a national bid."

Warling, from Loveland, Colo., is enjoying the competition she has seen after just two meets.

 "I like running against strong teams because it really pushes me," Warling said. "Colorado is a strong state for cross country so I'm running like I thought I could. The team did really well today and it helped that Leah was right behind me."

Stefani Messick was third on the team and 32
nd overall with a time of 24:15, followed by freshman

Allie Crimmins (48
th / 24:57) and sophomore
Patty Atkinson (49
th / 25:04).

CC was the top non-Division II school on Saturday, finishing behind Colorado School of Mines (38 points) and CSU-Pueblo (57) and tying Adams State (94).
