Box Score 1 The 15th-ranked Colorado College volleyball team won its own CC Classic on Saturday in Reid Arena after beating the University of Dubuque, 3-0, and the University of Texas at Tyler, 3-1.
 
Senior Courtney Birkett, the tournament MVP, led the Tigers in the first match of the day against Dubuque with a triple-double on 18 assists, 12 kills and 13 digs. She followed that performance with nearly another triple-double on a team-high 25 assists, along with nine kills and nine digs.
 
Senior Sophie Merrifield, an all-tournament team selection, anchored the defense for CC against the Spartans with a team-high 14 digs, while sophomore Glenna Yancey, another all-tournament performer, added five blocks at the net to force Dubuque into hitting a -.029 attack percentage as a team.
 
The Tigers, who improved to 5-0 on the season, swept the Spartans 25-15, 25-18, 25-15 to earn their first win of the day.
 
Outside hitters Abbe Holtze and Reagan Folaron led Colorado College against UTT, each earning a double-double. Holtze had a team-high 15 kills and 15 digs, while Folaron had 14 kills and 11 digs.
 
The Tigers outhit the Patriots with 52 kills, while giving up only 35 kills in a 25-14, 20-25, 25-15, 25-12 victory in the tournament finale to claim the championship.

Sophomore Sarah Barker added 19 assists against UTT, while freshman Myca Steffey-Bean contributed with a team-high five blocks and seven kills.
 
Colorado College hosts the CC Invitational on Sept. 11-12 in Reid Arena. The Tigers will begin the tournament against Chapman University at 3 p.m. on Friday.
