Field Results
The Colorado College women's track and field team continued its 2016 outdoor season at the University of Colorado Invitational Saturday in Boulder, Colo.

Competing against Division I and Division II teams, the Tigers posted some impressive results. Sophomore
Asmeda Spalding-Aguirre had the team's best finish by placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.97, the second-fastest time in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) so far this season.

The Tigers also performed well in the 400-meter dash as sophomore
Duranya Freeman ran that distance for the first time this season and finished 11
th in 1:00.88, followed by juniors
Ellie Swanson (13th in 1:01.66) and
Stefani Messick (14th in 1:01.80) and sophomore
Ayla Loper (16th in 1:02.27). All four of those times are in the top eight in the SCAC.

Sophomore
McKenna Schnack placed 19
th (13.53 seconds) in the 100-meter dash, followed by freshman
Casey Pollard in 20
th (13.59), while sophomore
Corey Luna finished 23
rd in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:29.54. Sophomore
Kathryn Walsh led the Tigers by finishing 33
rd in the 1,500-meter race with a personal-best time of 5:19.54, followed by sophomore
Patty Atkinson in 34
th place and freshman
Leah Veldhuisen in 35
th.

"We had some outstanding performances today," head coach
Ted Castaneda said. "This gives us good momentum and puts us in the right direction for the next couple of weeks."

The Tigers will split the team next weekend, with the distance runners competing at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kan., on Friday, April 15 and the rest of the team at the Jack Christiansen Invite in Fort Collins, Colo., on Saturday, April 16.
