Chris Kawano begins his second season as the director of hockey operations and video coordinator for the Colorado College hockey program in 2015-16.
Kawano, the first director of operations in program history, played goaltender for the Tigers from 2003 through 2007 and recorded a 2-2 record in eight career appearances. As a sophomore, he was a part of the team that advanced to the national semifinals in 2005.
During his junior season, Kawano earned a spot on the All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association's all-Academic team and received Colorado College's annual Dave Peterson Award as Most Improved Player.
After graduating in 2007 with a degree in sociology, Kawano spent two years as a graduate assistant with the Bemidji State University women's hockey team, working with the goaltenders and coordinating the XOs/Vega video analysis system.
Prior to joining the CC staff, Kawano spent three years with Planet Hockey, developing youth hockey players while running hockey camps across the country.
