Matt Zaba, a 2007 graduate of Colorado College, is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the CC hockey team. Zaba, who ranks No. 3 on the school’s list for career goaltending wins with 55, will work exclusively with the team’s netminders.

The Yorkton, Saskatchewan, native won a career-high 20 games as a junior in 2005-06 and 10 games a year earlier while helping the Tigers to the national semifinals. He holds the school record for saves percentage (.913) among goalies that played at least three seasons at Colorado College.

Zaba, who earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at CC, was an eighth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2003 and enjoyed an eight-year pro career that included an NHL game with the New York Rangers and five years in Europe, most recently for the Vienna Capitals.

Zaba, co-founder of Mountain High Hockey, a company that offers summer camps, private lessons and off-ice skill development training, was recently named the goalie coach for the Colorado Rampage hockey club in Monument, Colo.Â
