Quick start leads Dallas past Tigers

The University of Dallas scored twice in the opening 20 minutes and held on for a 3-2 victory over Colorado College in a non-conference men's soccer game on Sunday afternoon in Irving, Texas.

Stuart Brown gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead just 6:35 into the game and Adam Lungar scored the first of his two goals in the 20th minute to give UD the early advantage.

Jordan Reese cut the deficit in half with 20:02 remaining in the first half, but Lungar added what proved to be the game winner in the 76th minute to give the Crusaders a two-goal cushion.

Ben Hancock pulled the Tigers to within a goal with 7:40 to play, but the Tigers were unable to get the equalizer.

Chris Sumcizk made six of his eight saves in the second half to earn the victory in goal. Joey Wykowski had four saves while suffering the loss.

The loss was the first for Colorado College in a game in which the Tigers scored. CC slipped to 11-4-1 overall, with two of its losses coming in the second of back-to-back games when its opponents did not play. UD's most recent game was Oct. 21.

Colorado College will return to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Oct. 31 when the Tigers play host to Rhodes College at Stewart Field in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
