Hitting the road before opening a five-game home stand that will last until early December, Colorado College and WCHA Rookie of the Week William Rapuzzi try to remain at the top of the league standings this weekend when the Tigers play  a two-game series at Minnesota State University.

Faceoff at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minn., is 7:37 p.m. CT Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.

CC is 5-2-1 overall and 4-1-1 in league play after splitting with Minnesota Duluth at home last week. The Tigers, who bounced back for a 6-2 victory on Saturday after losing 4-3 on Friday, currently are tied for first place with Denver and North Dakota.

Rapuzzi, the team's third freshman to earn Rookie of the Week honors already this season, struck for the game-winning goal and added an assist in Saturday's victory. He also scored in the series opener.

Minnesota State, which was idle last weekend, is 3-4-1 overall and 1-4-1 in WCHA play. MSU is in ninth place, but just four points out of fourth.

Friday's contest marks the 39th all-time meeting between the teams, which split a pair of series during the 2008-09 season. Colorado College, which owns a 25-12-1 overall advantage in the rivalry, is 9-6-1 all-time against the Mavericks in Mankato after losing (2-1) and winning (4-3) there in mid-November of last year.

CC is No. 10 and 13 in this week's national polls released on Monday by USCHO.com/CBS College Sports and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.
