The Claremont Colleges men's tennis team lived up to its No. 1 ranking in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Region rankings.
The Stags defeated Colorado College, 9-0, on the first day of the Stag-Hen Invitational at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
Dane Solomon, ranked No. 15 in the region, took third-ranked Lawrence Wang to a third-set tiebreaker, but came out on the short end of a 6-3, 3-6, (10-6) decision.
The Stags won the remaining singles matches in straight sets.
Colorado College will face Pacific Lutheran University in the consolation semifinals on Saturday.
