The men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision against No. 4 UC-Santa Cruz on Saturday in the first of two matches in Northern California.
Dan Solomon, ranked No. 14 in the West Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, improved to 10-3 with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Silvio Chiba at No. 1 singles.
Evan Jonker gave the CC its second point at No. 4 singles by coming from behind to defeat Ryan Sass 1-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Nate Burt came out on the short end of a pair of hard-fought matches, falling 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 to Donald James at No. 2 singles, and falling 8-6 with Solomon at No. 1 doubles.
The Tigers dropped all three doubles points for the sixth time this season.
Colorado College will play Chapman University on Sunday in its final tune-up for the 2009 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
