Colorado College officially ushers in its 2010-11 WCHA schedule this week when the Tigers travel to Minnesota State University in the second of back-to-back road trips.
Faceoff times for the two-game series at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, Minn., are 7:37 p.m. CT Friday and 7:07 p.m. CT Saturday.
CC owns a 2-1-1 overall record after splitting a pair of non-conference decisions at last week's Brice Alaska Goal Rush in Fairbanks. The Tigers lost to tournament host University of Alaska, 2-1, in Saturday's championship game after defeating UA Anchorage by a 4-3 count on Friday.
Minnesota State, which already kicked off its WCHA slate with a 5-2 loss and 5-5 tie at Michigan Tech last weekend, remains winless at 0-1-3 overall to go with its 0-1-1 mark in league play.
Friday's series opener marks the 41st all-time encounter between the teams. Colorado College, ranked 19th nationally in this week's
U.S. College Hockey Online poll, owns a 27-12-1 advantage overall in the rivalry and is 11-6-1 against the Mavericks in Mankato after sweeping there a year ago.
Once this weekend is out of the way, the Tigers play six of their next eight games at home, starting with a two-game set against the University of Minnesota on Oct. 29 and 30. They don't travel out of state again until early December.
