Modern, Jonker secure win over Roadrunners

Colorado College won five of six singles matches to post a 6-3 victory over Metropolitan State College on Thursday afternoon.

The match was in doubt until Evan Jonker and Thomas Modern survived third-set super tie-breakers at No 2 and 4 singles, respectively.

Jonker clinched the match with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-5 victory that squared his season record at 6-6. Modern prevailed in the most competitive match of the day, posting a 7-5, 6-4, 11-9 win for his fifth individual win.

Will Lindsay and Zach White contributed two points apiece, combining for an 8-6 triumph at No. 3 doubles before posting straight-set victories at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Lindsay won his third consecutive singles match to improve to 5-8, while White ran his individual record to 5-6.

The Tigers improved to 6-8, winning for the first time this season when trailing after the doubles matches.
