Tigers can’t find net during loss at Willamette

Colorado College did almost everything right on Friday night, but the inability to finish its scoring chances led to a 2-0 loss at Willamette University.

The Bearcats scored the only goal they would need in the 33rd minute when Bob Paras took a pass from Adan Vazquez and beat Andy McGhie from five yards out.

Willamette added an insurance goal 4:23 into the second half when Brendan Dineen converted on a penalty kick.

The Tigers finished with a 20-9 advantage in total shots and a 9-5 edge in shots on goal, but WU goaltender Alfredo Zuniga stopped everything CC threw at him. Zuniga made seven of his saves in the second half when the Tigers launched 15 shots.

Matt Fechter had four shots on goal.

Colorado College finished with eight corner kicks, compared to only four for the Bearcats.

McGhie finished with three saves.
The Tigers will conclude their brief trip to Oregon on Sunday when they square off with Whitman College at noon.
