Matt Fechter took matters into his own hands again on Sunday and finally put Colorado College into the winning column.
Fechter scored a goal and assisted on another by freshman
Sean Parham, fueling the Tigers to a 2-0 victory over Whitman College on the campus of Willamette University.
Senior keeper
Andy McGhie made six saves while shutting out the Whits and helping CC improve to 1-2 for the season.
Fechter provided all the support McGhie would need just 16:56 into the match, rocketing a shot in the lower right corner of the Whitman net for his second tally of the season. The sophomore forward then launched a corner kick that resulted in the goal by Parham, which also involved a nice cross by freshman
Ben Glass, at the 34:37 mark.
Colorado College prevailed despite playing most of the second half a man down, due to a red card. CC was out-shot by a 13-12 margin overall. The Whits also finished with a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Fechter now leads the Tigers with 6 points (2g,2a) for the campaign.
