Evan Jonker and Lionel Zen-Ruffinen each won a pair of matches as Colorado College began the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a 5-0 victory over Austin College.
The Tigers claimed all three doubles points for only the fourth time this season, dropping just four points in the process.
Sam Barnard and Jonker cruised to an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Will Lindsay and Zach White prevailed by the same count at No. 3. Nate Burt and Zen-Ruffinen didn't work much longer before claiming at 8-2 decision at No. 1.
Jonker was even more dominant at No. 2 singles, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 victory for the first time this season. Zen-Ruffinen put CC in the winners' bracket with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 singles.
The match was halted after the Tigers clinched the team victory in an effort to get the rain-delayed tournament back on schedule.
Colorado College dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 2-seed DePauw on Friday afternoon. Despite being blanked for the first time this season, the CC pushed their opponent which entered the tournament ranked No. 17 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Tigers face Millsaps College in their only match on Saturday.
