Colorado College bounced back from a disappointing loss to Millsaps College in the morning to defeat Southwestern University in the second of three matches against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference on its two-day trip to Texas.
In the first match of the day, the Tigers dropped all three doubles points for the fifth time this season.
Zach White put CC on the board with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6 doubles, but the Majors clinched the match by taking two of the first three single points.
Will Lindsay extended his winning streak to six matches with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 5 singles.
Lionel Zen-Ruffinen won both points for the sixth time this season to help the Tigers defeat an under-manned Pirate squad.
Playing the individual contests first, CC took control of the match by winning four of five singles points. Evan Jonker got the ball rolling with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. Thomas Modern and Will Lindsay were also victorious.
The Tigers sealed the victory when Zen-Ruffinen and Nate Burt came out on top by an 8-4 count at No. 1 doubles.
Colorado College tunes up for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships by playing host to the 2011 Front Range Classic next weekend.
