Robert Kasemodel led the Colorado College men's tennis team Thursday afternoon, but 43rd ranked Division II Metro State College of Denver proved too much as the Tigers fell 8-1 in Denver.
Kasemodel earned the sole victory of the day for CC at No. 6 singles with an impressive 6-1, 6-2 victory over Ryan Joyce. With the win, Kasemodel is a perfect 2-0 during his first collegiate season at No. 6 singles.
Freshman
Jack Burger played strong during his singles match, but came up just shy in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Alex Parmenter at No. 5 singles.
In doubles play, Kasemodel and
Zach White came up on the wrong side against Jonathan Evangelista and Thomas Lowe during a close 8-6 loss at No. 3 doubles.
“We played well again at third doubles but came up a little short,” said head coach Todd Doebler. “In singles, Robert played really solid today.”
Will Lindsay also had a hard fought match during singles play, but fell short in a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Gabriel Vlahos at No. 2 singles.
Colorado College is now 1-3 on the season and will travel to Orlando, Fla., to take on Hamline University on Sunday in the first of six matches over Spring Break.
