Robert Kasemodel won a pair of matches against Colorado Mesa University, but the Colorado College men's tennis team was unable to come up with the victory falling to the Mavericks, 7-2 on Sunday morning at Ken Caryl Ranch in Denver, Colo.
 
Kasemodel and partner Zach White earned the first victory for the Tigers with an 8-6 win over Sterling Inouve and John Hendrickson, 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
 
Kasemodel won the remaining point for CC in a tough three-set match against Jonathan Casson at No. 4 singles. Kasemodel won his first set 7-5, but dropped the second set 6-1. The freshman held strong in the final set, winning 10-5.

Nate Burt and Lionel Zen-Ruffinen dropped a tough 9-7 decision to Andres Hernandez and Jordan Lyden at No. 1 doubles.
 
“Robert and Zach continue to play strong doubles and Nate and Leo almost pulled off a great come back,” said head coach Todd Doelber. “We had a few tough battles in singles, but only Robert was able to pull through and win.
 
“Both Nate and Zach lost in tough battles.”
 
In singles play, Burt and White each had hard fought matches with each match going to three sets. Burt came up short against Brason Hollabaugh in a 7-5, 6-7, 10-7 loss at No. 1 singles. White took his match to three but fell short in a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 loss to Inouve at the No. 6 singles position.
 
Colorado College dropped to 4-7 on the season and competes against Hope International University in its first and only home match this season at Burghart Tennis Courts on Monday at 3 p.m.
