Tigers drop 2-1 decision at CU-Colorado Springs

Box Score Senior defender Nick Lammers scored his first goal of the season with four minutes remaining in the game, but Colorado College was not able to notch the equalizer and dropped a 2-1 decision at Division II CU-Colorado Springs.

Lammers' header off a cross from junior forward Sean Parham was one of the few scoring chances the Tigers were able to generate. CC managed only seven total shots, two of which were on goal.

Parham extended his points streak to a career-best three games and he leads the team with six points.

The Mountain Lions, who avenged last year's overtime loss to the Tigers, scored what proved to be the winning goal on Mash Shaswar's penalty kick with 5:55 to play.

UCCS took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when Brett Drefs scored his first goal of the year off a pass from Sebastian Hertzberg.

Senior Brian Graf made two saves during the first half, while senior Forrest Marowitz stopped two shots in relief.

Brian Hiner finished with one save to earn the victory in goal.

The Mountain Lions (1-2) recorded 17 total shots and nine corner kicks.

Colorado College (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 8, when it plays George Fox University in Tacoma, Wash.
