Tigers Extend Winning Streak Against Dallas

Box Score Colorado College won its ninth consecutive match overall and maintained a share of first place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon at Stewart Field.

CC improved to 9-1 overall, marking the first time since 1984 the Tigers won nine of their first 10 matches.

Junior midfielder Max Grossenbacher scored the only goal Colorado College needed just 4:41 into the contest, dribbling into the box and putting a low shot past sophomore goalkeeper Tino Gamueda.

Grossenbacher's second career game winner marked the fourth time this season the Tigers scored during the opening five minutes of a game.

A little less than three minutes later, junior midfielder Soren Frykholm struck for his first goal as a Tiger after settling a cross from sophomore midfielder Caden MacKenzie.

Grossenbacher completed his first multiple-goal game by converting his first career penalty kick in the 22nd minute.

Freshman Theo Hooker and junior Tom Crosby shared the team's sixth clean sheet of the season. Hooker made one save during 74 minutes in goal, while Crosby did not face a shot in the final 16.

CC launched 22 shots while allowing only two. The Tigers also had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Tigers have outscored their opponents 25-4 at home this season and have not allowed more than five shots on goal in a game this year.

Gamueda made four saves for the Crusaders during the first half. P.J. Hasson stopped three shots during the final 45 minutes.

Colorado College makes the second of its three trips to the Lone Star State next week when the Tigers visit Southwestern University and Trinity University on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
