Box Score Colorado College used a pair of first-half goals and a stellar defensive effort to post a 2-0 victory over Texas Lutheran University on Sunday afternoon in the final home game of the regular season.

The Tigers, who improved to 11-2-2 overall and 9-1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, maintained their one-point lead over Trinity University atop the league standings.

Nathan Andersen scored the only goal CC needed in the 14th minute with a header off senior midfielder

Andersen struck the ball near the right edge of the six-yard box and put it between goalkeeper Brendan and the near post for his second game winner of the year.

Seth Newby added an insurance tally in the 27th minute, taking a through ball from junior midfielder
Soren Frykholm and sending a shot from outside the left post across the crease into the lower right corner.

Colorado College compiled a 17-6 advantage in total shots and a 7-2 margin in corner kicks.

It marked the 10th time this season the Tiger defense held an opponent to fewer than five shots on goal and the 12th time an opponent failed to record double-digit total shots.
