Box Score Colorado College was unable to replicate its level of play during Friday night's conference victory and dropped an 82-51 decision to Nebraska Wesleyan University at Reid Arena on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers (2-7) were within striking distance when junior winger
Ryan Young hit a short jumper a little less than two minutes into the second half, but they went cold during the next 10 minutes and the Prairie Wolves outscored CC 26-8 to take control of the contest.
Junior forward
John Hatch scored 11 points and led the Tigers with eight rebounds.
Young and freshman forward CooxooEii Black each finished with 11 points.
Junior guard
Eric Houska dished out a game-high five assists and climbed into sixth place on the program's career list with 192.
Colorado College trimmed its deficit to two points after Hatch connected on a jumper from the left wing with three minutes to play in the first half, but NWU used an 11-4 surge to build a 38-29 halftime lead.
Young gave the Tigers an early 8-4 lead, only to see Nebraska Wesleyan run off eight in a row to take the lead it would never surrender. Â Â Â Â
Sophomore forward Blake Cooper led the Prairie Wolves with 22 points and nine rebounds.
Junior forward Deion Wells-Ross finished with 14 points, while sophomore forward Ryan Garver and freshman guard Nate Schimonitz added 11 and 10, respectively.
CC finished the game with a 42-41 edge on the boards, but committed a season-high 27 turnovers and shot just 30 percent from the floor.
Colorado College is idle until Dec. 28 when it visits the University of La Verne for the first of two non-conference games in Southern California.
