Freshman
Logan Pepperl scored the only point for the second straight match as the Colorado College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Texas-Permian Basin Saturday afternoon at City Park in Pueblo, Colo.
Â
The Falcons took all three doubles contests, including an exciting 9-8 victory by Cole Davis and Jordan Minjoot over Pepperl and fellow freshman
Noah Forman at the top spot.
Â
After winning the No. 5 singles match against Colorado Mesa on Friday, Pepperl won the No. 4 match, 6-1, 7-6(4), on Saturday. The Tigers nearly won a couple of other singles matches, but sophomore
Daniel Holland lost 10-8 in a third-set supertiebreak at the No. 3 position, while freshman
Clint Jung lost 11-9 in his supertiebreak at No. 5.
Â
"We were much more competitive in doubles and had some terrific efforts in singles," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "We'll likely be messing with the doubles lineups quite a bit this fall with so many new faces."
 Â
The Tigers return to action next weekend at the Metro State Invitational, Sept. 17-18.
