Box Score Colorado College utilized a dominating performance by its defense to record a 1-0 victory over Centenary College on a blustery Sunday morning at Washburn Field.

The Tigers allowed just two total shots, only one of which was on target, while recording their fifth clean sheet of the season.

With its third consecutive shutout, CC extended its scoreless streak to 314 minutes and lowered its goals-against average to 0.54.

Colorado College improved to 5-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

"It wasn't our best performance of the season, but I'm pleased to see the team taking great pride in its defending," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "We now have three shutouts in a row and are becoming a very difficult team to beat. This will serve us well as we head into the meat of the SCAC schedule."

Fittingly, junior defender
Griffin Wesley scored the game's only goal early in the eighth minute when his header off of
Tim Huettel's corner kick found the net inside the left post.

It was Wesley's second goal of the season and his first career game winner.

The Tigers finished with a 13-2 advantage in total shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper
Theo Hooker finished with one save while posting his fourth clean sheet of the season and the 30th of his career.

Hooker's only save came 70 seconds into the second half on a long shot by junior defender Andre Anasi.Â

Kaleb Behm stopped three shots for the Gents, who dropped to 0-6-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the SCAC.
