Â
Fans can watch this week's games for free on the Tiger Sports Network (
http://www.cctigers.com/watch/). Live stats are also available for both contests.
Â
The Tigers slipped to 1-3-0 with last Friday's 2-0 loss at No. 23 University at Kansas. CC is 1-1-0 at home and 0-2-0 on the road, with both losses coming to nationally-ranked opponents.
Â
South Dakota improved to 2-4-0 with a pair of 1-0 victories last week. The Coyotes defeated Creighton University at home on Thursday, Aug. 31, and then picked up their first road victory in four tries at the University of North Dakota on Sunday, Sept. 3.
Â
Army will carry a 1-3-1 record into Friday night's encounter with Air Force. The Black Knights, who are 0-1-1 in enemy territory this season, dropped a 1-0 decision at Sacred Heart University in their most recent game on Aug. 31.
Â
Colorado College and South Dakota meet for the first time on Friday. CC faces Army for just the second time on Sunday. In the only previous encounter on Sept. 14, 2008, the Tigers prevailed 3-0 at the Air Force Invitational.
Â
Colorado College averages 0.75 goals per game while allowing 1.75. Junior midfielder
Kelli Sullivan, freshman midfielder
Riley Prillwitz and freshman defender
Camille Weaver have scored for the Tigers. Senior defender
Anne-Sophie Lapointe has CC's only assist. Freshman goalkeeper
Jade Odom owns a 1-2-0 record along with a 1.28 goals-against average and a .765 saves percentage.
Â
Just like last year's squad, the 2017 Colorado College women's soccer team is one of the youngest in head coach
Geoff Bennett's 14-year tenure. With eight sophomores and eight first-year players, two-thirds of this year's Tigers are underclassmen. Only the 2010 team that featured 17 underclassmen among its 24 available players was statistically younger. The 2010 Tigers finished the season with an 8-7-4 overall record.
Â
Eight of the team's nine newcomers have earned playing time during the first four games of the season, including sophomore midfielder
Johanna Hamblett, who played at Mississippi State University last year and has started all four. Five freshmen – forward
Hannah Burgo, midfielder
Jenna Wilt, Odom, Prillwitz and Weaver – started at least two games and defender
Tayla Wheeler gives CC five first-year Tigers who have contributed in at least three.
Â
Colorado College concludes its non-conference schedule with road games at Yale on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. ET and at Connecticut on Sunday, Sept. 17, at Noon ET. The following week, the Tigers begin Mountain West action with home games against the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University on Sept. 22 and 24, respectively.
