The Colorado College men's tennis team attempted to rally after losing all three doubles matches Monday, but fell short against Grinnell College, 7-2, in Orlando, Fla.
Â
After the Pioneers (9-2) swept the three doubles matches, freshman
Sam Hum won the No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 6-4, over Zach Lane, and junior
Christian Kitchen won his fourth match at No. 6 on as many days, defeating Henry Johnson, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0(8).
Â
Kitchen's match was one of three that went the distance, but Grinnell captured the other two. Sriram Sugumaran rallied to edge sophomore
Noah Forman, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0(6) at the top spot, while Ishaan Tibrewal also came from behind to defeat senior
Brian Chen, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0(10).
Â
The Tigers (3-11) take a day off before continuing their spring break trip with a pair of matches against North Central College and Babson College on Wednesday, March 21.
