2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Bracket
The Colorado College men's soccer team earned its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2012 and will face Gustavus Adolphus College in a first-round game on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 3:30 p.m. CT at North Park University in Chicago.
Saturday's winner will face either North Park or Pacific Lutheran University in a second-round game on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The Tigers, ranked No. 22 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Division III poll, received an at-large berth after posting a 14-6 record and capturing its first-ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title with an 8-1 mark.
CC defeated Austin College, 2-0, in a semifinal match of the conference tournament, but dropped a 3-1 result to Texas Lutheran University in Sunday's championship game.
"I couldn't be more pleased for the guys," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "While yesterday's final was disappointing, we are certainly more than deserving of the opportunity to play in the NCAA tournament.
We've been on the wrong side of these decisions in recent years--with very strong profiles--so we are excited to extend our season.
"Our early season grinders, against top teams, have proven valuable not just for our selection today but to prepare us for this coming weekend. The guys are ready for the challenge ahead."
Colorado College defeated then No. 8 Luther College, 3-0, in its second game of the season, and went toe-to-toe at No. 10 Kenyon College before falling 2-1.
Gustavus Adolphus (17-3) earned an automatic berth with a 3-1 win over the University of St. Thomas in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff championship Saturday.
In its most recent NCAA Tournament appearance, CC defeated Babson College, 3-1, in the first round before dropping a 2-1 result to No. 25 University of Scranton the following day.
