Freshman forward
Griffin Meyer gave Colorado College the lead just 2:30 into the game, but the Tigers were unable to build on its advantage and Southwestern University rallied for 3-1 victory on Sunday at Varsity Field.
Meyer scored his second of the season off a feed from
Aidan Longhurst, who scored CC's only goal on Friday at Texas Lutheran.
Sajjan Singh also had an assist on the play.
Singh nearly doubled the Tigers' lead in the 15th minute, but his shot was cleared away by senior defender Wil Mekelburg.
In the 32nd minute, Colorado College came within inches of scoring again when Meyer blasted a shot off the post.
The Tigers kept Southwestern off the board until the 53th minute when Seth Holtzmann leveled the score.
A little more than two minutes after Mekelburg kept a
Will Mallory shot from crossing the line, Ashton Bynum gave the Pirates a 2-1 lead.
Southwestern was given a penalty shot in the 80th minute to close out the scoring.
CC slipped to 4-4-0.
