Junior defender
Alexa Porter struck for her first career goal as the Colorado College women's soccer team capped its 2021 season with a 1-0 victory over Air Force on Thursday night at Stewart Field.
Porter curled a direct kick from 45 yards out on the left inside the far post to give the Tigers the only goal they would need 65 seconds into the second half.
The CC defense took care of the rest, allowing just seven total shots while posting its second consecutive clean sheet.
Goalkeeper
Taryn Benham finished with a pair of saves and lowered her season goals-against average to 1.19 and raised her saves percentage to .672.
The Falcon's best scoring opportunity was a header by Kayla Milford that flew over the crossbar in the 38th minute
Colorado College finished with a 15-7 advantage in total shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Tigers posted a 3-1-2 record in its last six games, climbed into a tie for sixth place in the Mountain West table with a 4-4-3 record and were only two points out of third place.
CC tied or defeated four of the six teams that advanced to the conference championship.

"What a great way to end the season," head coach
Geoff Bennett said. "We played our last twelve games in 5-4-3 and went 4-4-3 in MWC play and tied for 6th place. This group never quit, never stopped working hard and kept great faith."
Colorado College Standouts
Jenna Wilt led the Tigers with four shots, one of which was on target.
Abby Hubbard and
Jacqui Hand launched two shots, one of which was on goal.
Air Force Standouts
Faith Lee and Kayla Milford led the Falcons with two shots and one shot on goal.
Cammi Bych finished with two saves.
Notes
Colorado College finished with a 4-4-3 record in the Mountain West and 5-10-3 overall.
Air Force finished with a 3-7-1 conference record and a 6-10-2 overall mark.
The Tigers lead the all-time series 17-3-0 and have won 11 consecutive games.
CC is 10-0-0 against the Falcons at Stewart Field.
