Jutting Nets First Career Goal vs. Omaha

Brock Bremer scored three goals and added two assists and Isaiah Saville made 26 saves to lead 10th-ranked Omaha to a 7-1 victory over Colorado College Friday night at Baxter Arena.

Brandon Scanlin collected a goal and an assist, while three other players had a pair of helpers for the Mavericks, who improved to 12-6-1.

Omaha's leading scorer, Chayse Primeau, opened the scoring by collecting the only goal of the first period. Jake Harrison's shot from the high slot clanged off the pipe, but Primeau found the rebound and placed it past CC goalie Dominic Basse at the 9:07 mark of the first frame.

The Mavericks put the game away with four goals in the second period. Bremer scored twice within a span of 2:31 during a five-minute power play after CC's Nicklas Andrews was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for contact to the head.

After it appeared Jimmy Glynn scored at the 8:33 mark, head coach Mike Haviland pulled Basse in favor of Matt Vernon, but the goal was waved off for goaltender interference. Glynn eventually scored at the 15:56 mark and Ryan Brushett made it 5-0 with 2:54 remaining in the second.

Freshman Jackson Jutting scored the first goal of his career for the Tigers (3-12-2) at the 13:42 mark of the third period with a rocket from the slot that beat Saville, then Scanlin scored with 5:34 remaining and Bremer closed the scoring with 18.5 seconds left.

The Mavericks outshot CC, 46-27, and converted two of their four power-play opportunities.

Basse had 24 saves before exiting the game in the second period, while Vernon finished with 15 saves. Josiah Slavin led the Tigers with five shots, while Hugo Blixt and Jutting each had four. Freshman Matthew Gleason had one shot in his collegiate debut.

The two teams battle again on Saturday, Feb. 13, beginning at 5 p.m. (MT).
