Sam Hum at the No. 1 singles position, the Colorado College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Southwestern University Saturday afternoon at Burghart Tennis Courts.

The Pirates jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches. Drew Shuvalov and Carlos Esteban downed freshmen
Jack Delafield and
Andrew Kaelin, 8-6, at No. 1, while Hunter Bajoit and Vesko Lekovic downed Hum and freshman
Alex Baum by the same score at the No. 2 spot. Junior
Jacob Adas and sophomore
Joseph Dryer lost to Alex Joseph and Steven Tibbetts, 8-3, at No. 3.

Hum played brilliant tennis throughout his 6-3, 6-3 victory over Lekovic at the top singles spot. Delafield put up a good fight at No. 2, pushing Bajoit before falling, 7-5, 6-4. Meanwhile, Adas won the first set in the No. 6 match, but lost to Borovik, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0(3).

Southwestern (6-1) won the Nos. 3 through 5 matches in straight sets.

The Tigers (0-2) are back in action on Saturday, April 3, against Metro State University, beginning at 4 p.m., in Denver, Colo.
