Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Colorado College men's tennis team split a pair of matches at Memorial Park on Sunday, defeating SCAC opponent Austin College, 7-2, before falling to Division II Metro State, 7-0.
 
The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead in doubles against Austin with wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. Andrew Kaelin and Billy Taylor took the No. 2 match, 8-6, over Calum Robe and Tate Nelson, while Alex Baum and Joseph Dryer downed Joseph Carillo and William Dixon, 8-4, at No. 3.
 
CC won the Nos. 2-5 matches, including an exciting, 5-7, 6-2, 10-8 victory by Kaelin over Preston Spivey at the No. 2 position. Dryer also won in three sets, defeating Nelson, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4. The Tigers won the other three matches in straight sets.
 
In the afternoon match, Metro won all nine matches, but August Knox put up a great fight at the No. 5 singles spot before falling to Jeanloop Auzius, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0(4).
 
The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, April 17, against Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo., beginning at 2:30 p.m.
