Fast Start Propels Tigers Past the University of Dallas

The Colorado College men's soccer team scored twice during the first 10 minutes and turned in a dominating effort in its defensive third to post a 3-1 victory over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon at Stewart Field.

The Tigers jumped on the Crusaders from the opening kickoff and it did not take long for CC take the lead as Atticus Lynch scored just 1:53 into the contest when he knocked his own rebound past UD goalie Goncalo Pernas.

Vincent Luglio doubled the Tiger lead in the 10th minute when he took a through pass from Gabe Kellman and beat Pernas. Ronan McCann collected an assist on the pay as well.

Luglio's goal proved to be his second game winner of the season and he joined Kellman and senior forward Kiran Singh in a three-way tie for the team lead with three goals apiece. Kellman extended his point streak to three games and leads Colorado College with nine points.

The Crusaders got on the board when Chase Reynolds connected on a penalty kick after he was taken down in the box by CC's Mason Davis

Davis made up for the penalty and put the Tigers back up by two when he notched his second goal in as many games. David flicked a free kick from Sajji Singh past Pernas. Singh finished the weekend with five assists.

The Tigers outshot Dallas, 29-5, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Keleher Felton stopped a pair of shots for Colorado College.

Coaches Comments
"I thought we left some goals out there today, but overall another strong effort from the team," head coach Scott Palguta said. "Good defensive work high up the field is critical to the way we play. Once we became more coordinated with our pressure, I thought we really controlled the game. We are still learning a lot each time out, but I have confidence that this group will make a few more developmental leaps before the end of the season."

Colorado College
Gabe Kellman launched five shots for the Tigers, two of which were on target.
Teddy Libby came off the bench to take four shots, one of which was on frame.
