TIGERS PLAY FINAL HOME MATCHES THIS WEEKEND
The Colorado College women's soccer team plays its final two home matches at Stewart Field this weekend. The Tigers host Wyoming on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., then Colorado State for Senior Day on Sunday, Oct. 16, beginning at 3 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tigers defeated Utah State, 1-0, and tied Boise State, 0-0, last week on the road. On Thursday,
Adelaide Gaffney scored on CC's lone shot on goal of the match, her team-leading fifth tally of the season, to defeat the league-leading Aggies. Lily Bryne started the play with a through ball to
Jordan Darrow in the right corner. Darrow sent a cross into the box and Gaffney chipped it over the head of Utah State goalkeeper McKenzie Hunninghake, who suffered her first loss of the season.
Ally Wakeman, meanwhile, was outstanding in the net for the second consecutive outing. After making six saves in the Tigers' 3-0 triumph over New Mexico on Sunday, the senior from Lawrenceville, N.J., did one better on Thursday, including five in the first 45 minutes ... On Sunday, Wakeman again made seven saves, including a couple from point-blank range, in the scoreless draw with Boise State to extend the TIgers' unbeaten streak to four and shutout streak to three. The Broncos held a 24-2 advantage in shots. Â
