The Colorado College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to four matches and posted its third consecutive shutout Sunday with a 0-0 draw against Boise State at Boas Soccer Complex.
Â
Colorado College, which defeated Utah State 1-0 on Thursday, is 5-4-4 overall and 2-1-3 in the Mountain West, while Boise State moved to 6-2-7 and 2-0-4.
Â
The Broncos held a 24-2 advantage in total shots and had seven shots on goal. Tiger goalkeeper
Ally Wakeman turned aside all seven and now has 20 saves without allowing a goal in the last three games. The last time CC posted three consecutive shutouts was 2013, when the Tigers had six straight clean sheets midway through the season.
Â
CC had trouble generating scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes and was not credited with a shot on goal.
Â
"That was a tough battle on the road against a quality opponent," head coach
Keri Sanchez said. "We battled well defensively and showed composure when building out of the back. Our final third play just didn't quite click. I thought the last 10 minutes or so we shifted the momentum our direction, but just couldn't quite figure out a way to get a shot on goal. "
Â
Boise's Carly Cross led all players with eight attempted shots and tied teammate Kenzie MacMillan with a game-high two shots on target. The Broncos had six corners, while Colorado College had none.
Â
The Tigers return home for their final two home matches of the season, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 13, against Wyoming, beginning at 6 p.m., on Stewart Field.
