The Colorado College men's soccer team fell to Willamette University, 4-1, Thursday in their season opener in Tacoma, Wash.

The Bearcats took the early lead in the second minute when a cross from Jett Starr found teammate Sean Kim and the Kim hit the back of the net before CC goalkeeper
Brandon Burke could cover the post.

Willamette built upon its lead in the eighth minute when Starr scored a goal of his own with an assist from Pierce Gallaway. Gallway then continued the trend of the Bearcat assist followed by a goal in the 25
th minute.

Spud Ward scored the lone Tiger goal in the 40
th minute off a penalty kick. Starr scored the final goal of the match in the 80
th minute.

Willamette outshot CC, 13-9, four of which were on target, but CC had a 9-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Tigers return to action against the University of Puget Sound on Saturday at 1 p.m. (MT), before closing out their trip to the Northwest against Pacific Lutheran University on Monday.
