Andrew Kaelin and sophomore
Lucas Pastor each won a pair of matches and advanced to the questerfinals in their respective brackets Friday on day one of the 2022 ITA West Region Tennis Tournament in Claremont, Calif.
Kaelin, playing in the "A" bracket, rallied to defeat Ian Habbestad of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(5), in the first round, then downed Ishaan Kannan of Cal Tech, 6-4, 6-4, in the second round.
Pastor, meanwhile, beat Tyler Pyle, 6-1, 4-6, 1-0(6) in the first round of the "B" bracket. In the Round of 16, Pastor was ahead of Roshan Morey of Pomona-Pitzer, 4-1, when Morey retired due to injury.
The Tiger duo lost both of their doubles matches on Friday and were eliminated.
